“2015/12/20, 2016/03/04” (the tour of Yamanote line)

Sur le même principe que 11/05/2015 ou le tour du boulevard périphérique, il s’agit cette fois-ci d’un tour de la Yamanote, la ligne de métro circulaire et aérienne de Tokyo. Par deux jours de marche en partant du nord et en suivant le sens horaire, le parcours est restitué en photographies. La ligne traverse les multiples centres de Tokyo, entre lesquels on peut rencontrer des lieux différents et inattendus. De plus, le tour de la ligne Yamanote comparé à celui du boulevard périphérique, a presque une distance équivalente.

これは、「City tour series」というプロジェクトのうち一つの写真集。2つ目のシリーズとして、東京の山手線沿いを2日間かけて歩きつつ写真を撮影した。初日の「2015/12/20」には北から南へ、2日目の「2016/03/04」には南から北へと、時計回りと同じ方向で進行。本書に編集されている写真の順番はそれらが撮影されているのものと同じであり、観覧者が東京の街を散策しているかのように、写真家との体験を共有することができる。* 最初のシリーズ「11/05/2015」は2015年にパリの環状道路を同様に歩きつつとった写真集。

Follow the Yamanote line, on two separate days from two months (2015/12/20 and 2016/03/04). From north to south the first time, and from south to north the second time in the direction of clockwise. The edition reproduces the photographs of the walk. The line passes through the multiple centers of Tokyo, between which we can meet different and unexpected places. This project follows on from a similar first project, the tour of the Boulevard Périphérique in Paris, a road that encircles the city with an equivalent distance.
